HIV and STDs have become common place among our community. It is a status quo that we just can not accept. There are biomedical intervention like PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) which is a once a day pill that can prevent HIV. PrEP plus condoms could greatly reduce your risk of HIV and STDs. PrEP has been proven to be over 90 percent effective at preventing transmission of HIV.

Today Is #WorldWaterDay #WaterIs A day when the world turns its attention towards the 750 million people who lack access to safe water.
A drop of water is flexible. A drop of water is powerful. A drop of water is in demand.
Water is at the core of sustainable development. Water resources, and the range of services they provide, underpin poverty reduction, economic growth and environmental sustainability. From food and energy security to human and environmental health, water contributes to improvements in social well-being and inclusive growth, affecting the livelihoods of billions.
More than a billion people around the world will celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2015—the 44th anniversary of the annual day of action.
Thank you for saving my life”
It focuses on thanking blood donors who save lives every day through their blood donations and strongly encourages more people all over the world to donate blood voluntarily and regularly with the slogan “Give freely, give often. Blood donation matters.” The campaign aims to highlight stories from people whose lives have been saved through blood donation, as a way of motivating regular blood donors to continue giving blood and people in good health who have never given blood to begin doing so.
Today Is #WorldEnvironmentDay | This year’s#WED2015 theme is: “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care”.
Today Is # World Malaria Day 2015: “Invest In The Future. Defeat Malaria”
World Malaria Day is a chance to highlight the advances that have already been made in malaria prevention and control, and to commit to continued investment and action to accelerate progress against this deadly disease.
We must recognize the urgent need to expand prevention measures and quality-assured diagnostic testing and treatment to reduce the human suffering caused by malaria.
We are pleased to announce that our Chair & Trustee in Nigeria Dr. Godspower was involved in a discussion with the President of the Yobe State Branch of the Nigerian Medical Association, who also doubles as a trustee of a foundation seeking to find a lasting solution to the problem of kidney disease in this same state – in collaboration with the State Government. Our goal is to bring Safi-Safe Water Drops to help with the high level of Cadmium and Lead present in the municipal drinking water.
Tune in to Auto Route Expressway on 96.1 FM on Thursday 27 November at 2:20 pm and hear an interview with our chair and Trustee Dr. Godspower on the topic of Ebola in Africa, He will be discussing the outbreak, mortality and control of Ebola in Nigeria.
The world, West Africa in particular, is currently being ravaged by the ebola viral disease (EVD), which was once talked about only in class rooms. This, on the one hand, tacitly bares the shifting paradigms of the evolution of diseases, while evidently asserting the realities of globalization on the other hand. In a recent media chart, Dr Jim Young Kim, the president of the world bank, made a very passionate call to health workers globally to volunteer towards the fight against the disease. Long before Dr Jim’s call, we in HCRFF have risen up to the occasion because we identified the changing tides in global health and are thus sending one of directors, Dr Godspower O. Esogban, Chairman, Director & Trustee for Nigeria. He will be joining other volunteers at the CDC’s office in Atlanta for a training on managing an ebola treatment unit before his deployment to affected countries.
Tune in to Diaspo TVChannel 4 on HLN (Bwat LA) on Friday 28 November at 2:35 pm and hear an interview with our Chair and Trustee Pierrette J Cazeau-Sabir, MBA, MHA, Post Doctoral, Global Public Health Diplomat on the topic Earthquake in Haiti creates cholera epidemic disease and potential economic disaster: Why it is not curable? She will be discussing the outbreak, mortality and morbidity control of Cholera in Haiti Also the benefit of using Safi-Safe Water Drops to prevent waterborne disease.
HCRFF is therefore counting on your kind donations to make this project a reality.
Thank you!
Pneumonia is one of the most solvable problems in global health and yet a child dies from the infection every 20 seconds. Together we can ensure the fight against pneumonia is won.”

Schistosomiasis: A Major Public Health Problem
Schistosomiasis is a disease of poverty that leads to chronic ill-health. Infection is acquired when people come into contact with fresh water infested with the larval forms (cercariae) of parasitic blood flukes, known as schistosomes. The microscopic adult worms live in the veins draining the urinary tract and intestines. Most of the eggs they lay are trapped in the tissues and the body’s reaction to them can cause massive damage. Schistosomiasis affects almost 240 million people worldwide, and more than 700 million people live in endemic areas. The infection is prevalent in tropical and sub-tropical areas, in poor communities without potable water and adequate sanitation. Several million people all over the world suffer from severe morbidity as a consequence of schistosomiasis.
